International symposium of architectural and built environment education for young people

16th international architecture exhibition Biennale Architettura 2018
As part of the the Austrian contribution at the Biennale in Venice the international symposium is dedicated to current topics, trends and methods in architectural and built environment education for youing people.
The general topic of this years Biennale “freespace”, as well as the Austrian contribution “THOUGHTS FROM MATTER”, place the socio-political aspect of architecture and built environment at the centre of public discourse.
In line with the topic of the 2016 symposium “public space as creative and educational space” the symposium get involved IV offers opportunities for discussion and insights on an international scale by performing hands-on workshops in public space on site in Venice.
get involved IV includes an extensive workshop programme, which will be realised on site, as well as an educational publication, to be released as special edition of the BauKulturKompass series for schools.
The symposium is directed at architects, structural engineers, landscape and spatial planners, educators, engineers, pedagogues, sociologists, scientists, youth workers, students as well as at political decision makers in the context of built environment education.
The international workshopprogram offers 6 workshops. Thes were selected from the submissions at the CALL FOR WORKSHOPS and are available at the Symposium.

2 – 5 pm kick-off “creating open spaces”
Discussion and adaptation of the submitted workshop concepts in small groups consisting of the workshop leader and symposium participants.
